BoulderingBouldering involves climbing without a rope up to 4 metres high. The wall has a large padded mat under it that you will land on if you fall or when you are jumping down.
Bouldering is a great for building strength and is a fun social activity if you want to work on figuring out difficult routes with those around you. PCCG has 9 panels that have a variety of boulder problems with a range of difficulty levels. Bouldering is suitable for all ages of experience levels. |
Top RopeTop roping is where you climb the high wall while you are attached to a rope.
At PCCG, you can top rope using an auto belay device or with a partner. Each day pass purchase includes two belays with one of our staff members. Top roping is a great way to build strength and conquer any fear of heights that you may have. |
Lead ClimbingLead climbing is done on the same walls as top rope, but involves different technique. The climber clips their rope onto the wall as they climb, which means that a climber has the potential to fall further than with top rope.
Lead climbing can not be done with an auto belay and must be done with a belayer. A lead belayer's job is complex as they give rope and take up slack as the climber heads up the wall. |
